The Berlinale is not only the biggest cultural event of the city, but also one of the most important
events of the international film industry. Around 20,000 trade visitors from 130 countries, including
4,000 journalists, are accredited every year at the International Film Festival. With 300,000 tickets
sold, the Berlinale is not only industry meeting place, but also the world's largest public film festival.
Thus, the Berlinale one of the leading film festivals in the world.
All at the Berlinale participating cinemas are checked by TME according to the applicable norms and
standards. With own measuring and test equipment, we perform adjustments and calibrations.
We assume the construction management, coordination and planning of all media technology disciplines.
Modernizations and adaptations to technical progress and their installation are planned and supervised by us.
For example, the cinema sound system in the theater at Potsdamer Platz (Berlinale Palast) was renewed to the new
sound format Dolby Atmos. For this purpose, in the hall 90 loudspeaker systems were installed.
Also renewed were the front PA consisting of ten 3-way systems, and the two amplifier installations
with a total of 32 4-channel amplifiers. TME assumed the planning in conjunction with Dolby Lab. as well as the construction management.
In Tartu, the second largest city in Estonia after the capital Tallin, is located the oldest theater in Estonia, the Vanemuine theater. In 1967, the theater building was built. The theater has about 700 seats.
Most of the stage technology from 1967 was to be replaced by a modern, versatile theater technique that meets today's requirements.
Since the Vanemuine Theater offers a wide range of performing theater arts (theater, opera, operetta, ballet and musicals), the task for the stage lighting technology and for the audio / video and IT technology was defined: The systems are intended to serve this wide range of uses satisfy.
The modernization included the following areas managed by TME:
Stage lighting equipment and stage light connection network (power supply and data)
Stage management system with main console and portable side console with full HD monitoring (8 Full HD cameras and various control / screen monitors in the stage area) and mobile communication (intercom system with 13 access points and 35 beltpacks) including video recording and management of stored clips
Surtitling system based on a high-resolution LED color display (Pixel Pitch: 4.81 mm)
Sound system including on-stage audio monitoring and surround sound
Audio management with 2 digital mixing consoles and a digital and an analogue connection Network
Full HD video network based on fiber network (access to 3G-SDI signals) with 36 sources and 40 sinks
Renewal of the entire power distribution for stage lighting, AV and IT technology
The AV / IP network was built as an integral fiber network.
The Film Academy Baden-Württemberg was established in 1991. She enjoys both nationally and
internationally an excellent reputation. The students are supervised and taught by more than 300 film
and media professionals. This creates at the Film Academy annually more than 250 films of all genres and
formats that regularly take top places in national and international film festivals.
The Caligari-cinema is the cinema of the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg. The cinema has 160 seats
(increasing seating) and a screen with the approximate dimensions (W x H) of 8 x 3.5 m. It allows the
analog film projection and video projection with the source player options

Task of Planning contract:
The media technology equipment of cinema should be brought to a technically modern state. This is to be
achieved through the following measures:
Complete renovation of the theater sound system to play back the sound format Dolby Atmos
Modernization of digital projection on 4K playback according to DCI specification
Modernization of AV technology, including media control
Modernization of lighting equipment on stage and in the hall using LED technology
On behalf of the Film Academy following services were provided by TME:

Great shows, children's shows, guest performances, the Berlinale and festive galas attract almost
700,000 visitors. With over 160 participants in the evening, more than 100 artists, these are the largest
ensuite-shows in the world. The great hall has 1,891 seats and has main-, side-, rear- and proscenium-stages,
ice-, water-basins and pedestals. Thereof are 2,200 m² stage area and nearly 700 m² additionally playable
areas that can be driven on the stage on highly complex technical equipment of the house
(including the 225 to water basin).
The control room (FOH), the intercom system with a radio system, consisting of 35 antennas distributed
throughout the home, the remote observer system (Video) in the Friedrichstadtpalast were designed and
supervised by TME.
On the basis of documents of the current status of the hall acoustics conclusions were derived of TME to
improve the hall acoustics with regard to the electro-acoustic sound.
The sound system was designed by TME. This included the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of tenders.
The construction management as well as inspection were also part of the scope.
The entire stage-management-system was planned by TME and the installation was supervised.
The leisure center (FEZ) in Berlin is Europe's largest non-profit center for children, youth and family.
As part of the renovation of the building with the more than 400 seats auditorium was equipped with a new
powerful sound system that reflects the entire spectrum of music and speech reproduction in high quality on
all seats of the hall.
Following services were provided by TME:

- Construction supervision and inspection
The Filmhaus in the Sony Center in Berlin at the Potsdamer Straße unites under its roof historical and
trendsetting subjects around the medium film. In exciting exhibitions film and television history
can be experienced.
In the cinema Arsenal you can see highlights of film history, but also first-run movies. Film students
are coming and going in the Filmhaus. The German Film and Television Academy, one of the leading film schools
in Europe, is training the filmmakers of tomorrow.
With the Cinemas Arsenal 1 and 2, the cinemas of DFFB and the Institut für Film und Videokunst e. V. the Sony
Center got modern cinema- and video-technology. This technique enables all usual playback of digital and analog
media in professional cinema, including the classic film formats (35mm magnetic sound, 70mm). The installation
of digital cinema installations in Arsenal 1 and 2 was supervised by TME.
The following services were provided:
- Planning of all cinema and event installations in the cinema Arsenal 1 and 2, the DFFB and the Institut für Film und Videokunst e. V.
- Preparation of tender documents and evaluation of tenders
- Construction supervision and acceptance
The House of World Cultures is a place for international contemporary arts and a forum for current
developments and discourse. In the capital, Berlin, it presents artistic productions from around the
world with special consideration of non-European cultures and societies.
Visual arts, music, literature, performing arts, film, academic discussions and digital media are all
linked to a unique interdisciplinary program in Europe.
As part of the partial repair and modernization of the House of World Cultures
The following measures were carried out:
- Auditorium: renewal stage light-displacement system and complement the previously planned in the year
of TME modernizing dimmer system and the digital side panel system.
- Auditorium: repair and modernization of the audio network
- All foyers: Installation of a stage light-displacement system, installation of a cross-divisional
video, audio, Ethernet and fiber optic network
The measures were developed planning and advertised by TME. The services also included the construction
management and the acceptance after completion of the facilities.
Since its founding, the Komische Oper Berlin stands for contemporary, lively music theater and has developed
into one of the most renowned opera houses in the German-speaking countries. Shortly before the end of
World War II, large parts of the building and the entrance area and the ceiling paintings were completely
destroyed. The auditorium was almost undamaged. After the reconstruction of the theater, destroyed in 1945,
it was reopened in 1947.
The partial renewal of the stage manager, the modernization and expansion of the infrastructure and of the
central technology and the configuration and installation of a new intercom system were performed. Furthermore,
the remote video transmissions to 6 positions have been added in the theater. It also included the possibility
of video recording, the management of records over the IP network of the house and the possibility of live
streaming to selected PC workstations in the house.
TME was responsible for the specialized planning and construction supervising.
The Theater an der Parkaue is with his productions and festivals a major player in the national and international
children's and youth theater scene. Materials from overseas are also on the as myths of yesteryear, fairy tales
that everyone knows, freshly translated texts, familiar pieces and classics from 2000 years of literature program.
In all 3 stages Stage lighting installations were newly built.
